Wheeling an 8x8 now that's just plain cool
The 8 wheelers are Tatra trucks with 17.6 liter air-cooled v12 diesel engines. The have central tire inflation system on all eight wheels. I once sat in one of those tatra trucks and they are HUGE.
The best thing about those trucks are that you can by them for around $20.000 USD with a very low mileage.

Those photos are from Sweden not Iceland, anyway forumla offroad is growing real fast in Sweden and it damn cool to watch. The sport started in Iceland and they still have the meanest rigs.

borninajeep - I can't get enough of the Cooper S. It is really cool and fast. Plus it's cheap...if you can find one for sale. The BMW aftermarket tuners are already making widebodies for them.

Oh yeah the Iceland site is sorry forgot to post that one, but those Swedish rigs seem to equal the Icelandic ones at least from the Web wheeler perspective.

About 1 mile from the base is the car port where many of the car carriers from Europe dock and unload for the North American market....there were rows and rows of Mini's yesterday...and Audis and VW's and MB and shrink wrapped Porches and Rovers...
No wicked cool 8 wheel drive trucks though!
