I'm bored so I figured I post up pics of how I narrowed my wreck -

First I did the rear. I acutally did it about a year ago. I don't have any pics of the process but here's the final product-

Not so pretty but the bed is so dented and rusted it wasn't worth much more effort than that. Soon the truck will be caged and the bed will just be skinned.

On to the front, which I just finished up about a month ago, short of paint. I will also be chopping up a straighter grill shell and making inserts. The grill currently on the truck is far past any chance of looking good.

Narrowed one of my extra hoods as a test project to figure out exactly where I need to cut and to get an idea of what the truck will look like when I'm done -

Once I figure out basically where to cut and how much to cut out, I started cutting up the better of all my hoods -

First I cut out all the bracing -

Then marked my cuts with masking tape so I had an easy line to follow with the cut-off wheel -

Then cut -

And weld back together -

After plenty of grinding, a gallon of body filler, and some primer-

Cut down the bracing and glued/welded it back in-

Sweet! Thanks for the pics. I'm planning on sectioning mine the other way (ie: shortening from cowl to grill) and seeing yours is coooool.

looks good man, giving me good ideas.
Gotta get my front tube done, but mine will be a major project. I'm shortening & narrowing to line up with a narrowed cowl to boot.
