I am getting a 1975 K20 for free. It has 350/350/205/d44/14b but anyway i want to mate the 205 to the 700r4 in my 86 k10, wont it just bolt right up because 700r4 and th350 bolt patterns are the same right. O ya the 205 has a factory adapter plate for the th350 too right?

TH700 needs an aftermarket super-short shaft.... unless you can make/find a suitable spacer.

no they wont just bolt up. but you will be throwing a bad-ass transfer case onto a weak-ass transmission. go with a th350 for a 400

Contact Off Road Design. They helped me mate my 700r4 to my 205. All is needed is a spacer which they have. Most people that run the shorter shaft in the 700r4 run into front driveshaft clearence issues, shaft will hit the tranny pan. As far as the 700r4 being weak, ive had mine pushing 44" boggers for 5 yrs, without issue. I dont use OD. With that said, the 700r4 most probably wouldnt have lasted this long if i drove the truck on the street while useing OD.
i would say just build the 350 trans, use the saved money on something else.
murphy's law will help you spend $$ on a build.

ill probably build the th350 then, but just in case how much did the spacer cost Joshinator?
