: coilover charge PSI!!!! NOW
ToyFamily 05-07-2002, 07:43 PM we are charging the coilovers on the buggy and need to know what PSI to set it at....Sway a way site say 200psi but to you then let out some psi for you application ........cause the buggy is LIGHT and they are standing way up at 150psi
Sillyneck 05-07-2002, 07:58 PM have you flexed or driven it yet to see if there's any settle?
Sillyneck 05-07-2002, 07:59 PM are you at the shop right now?
ToyFamily 05-07-2002, 08:32 PM you have no idea!!!!! I need some tech info:flipoff2:
brainless 05-07-2002, 09:01 PM i charge between 100-300 lbs depending on the rig ,bring a powertank with you and try different psi .. your in the ballpark now ..
however if your spring rate is off you will have to run to high or low a psi to compensate for correct ride height ...

what u mean I have no idea...recall that I race MX for 10 years and played w/ dat shit the whole damn time! show me a pic and I'll tell you what to do!
hell I was racing 80's when I was 80 lbs...I had to run way low pressure to get the right sag....settle it w/ a big load...then run the standard load...gas and whatnot and set the bastard where it needs to be.

Can you post a pic of it on all 4's. This could be a result of improper spring selection. What does the tender coil look like?
brainless 05-07-2002, 10:04 PM you shouldnt use pressure to adjust ride height . changing your pressure also changes your damping .. springs are for ride height
psi is for damping . if your spring rate is off for the wheel ratio your shocks are set up at you will will have the wrong ride height and adding pressure to the shock is only a bandaid for ride height
you should start with what sway a way recomends for psi then if your ride height is wrong or the shocks are to stiff or soft then you will have to move your shock mounting points or change springs .
ToyFamily 05-07-2002, 11:29 PM check the new thread of the buggy there are full side view pics of the buggy. Maybe you looking at the pics will allow you to determine our prob. If we have to we will "bandaid" it for calrocs by using less pressure.
FatCity 05-07-2002, 11:41 PM 200-250psi. no less no more.

ToyFamily 05-08-2002, 12:00 AM Hey fat city it is really light! But look at this link it shows the buggy on all fours. And all flexed up. Anybodies experienced advise is greatly appreciated. If we have time we will throw it on the scale out back and post the weight distribution.

dirtrod 05-08-2002, 04:41 AM For crawling you don't need any pressure at all. I haven't run any gas at all for over a year. If you are fling across rough ground, add pressure, but for slow stuff I can't see any benefit.

I checked it out and still stand by 200psi.
It says you're useing Lexan sides, but after seeing the pic with the fender on I think it would look killer with door skins and cut up bed sides. Just my oppinion though

I agree that would look bad ass with the fenders already on there!
ToyFamily 05-08-2002, 01:14 PM We've talked about it.....maybe when we're not in such a rush.....memorial????
