Trailer Park Trash

I just picked up a Ford HP60 from a 99 F350 superduty for ($100 complete except for it needs a right knuckle). Problem is that the new fords have a unique wheel bolt pattern (8 x170 mm versus 8 on 6.5"). It's got the big bad 2 piston brakes and everything so I kinda wanted to keep it together out there. Is it possible for someone to drill the unit bearing and rotor to convert it to 8 on 6.5" or is it better to just go scrounge up some Chevy stuff knuckles out?
Thanks
Josh

I am almost sure its a 50 my guess is just run the stock ford wheels, and get some swampers for em!:flipoff2:

The 50 comes in all Super Duty 4x4 trucks EXCEPT the dually. The dually comes with the 60

It's prob a D50 unless it came from a dually then it'll be a 60. Either way it uses balljoints so swapping on chevy knuckles won't work.

FYI.....
There are quite a few new SRW 2002s that are coming from the factory with D60s now, not D50s. Most of them were the trucks built in the Kentucky plant.

In 99, 2000 like stated any single wheel will be a 50 and dually will be a 60.
If you want to use that axle then go get a replacement form Ford and as far as re-drilling it to 8X6.5 I would. It would be best to get a new rotor as opposed to then redrilling the rotor again to a larger size for the sholder on the wheel studs.

Can someone tell me the difference between a d50 and d60? I just put the front from a 2001 f350 in my jeep and it had full 1.55" thick 35 spline inners (had the long side shortened by Dutchman) and I put 5.13:1 gears in it for the D60 along with a No-Slip for a D60. Everthing fits fine and the gears set up with a great pattern. I guess I am a Newbie that got lucky.
BTW, I redrilled the hub and rotors to the 8x6.5 to match the 14-bolt rear. No problems. There's plenty of beef for the extra holes.

well, your axle is a dana 60, all d50's have 1.5 shafts however they neck down to 1.31 30 spline as they go into the differential. Dana 50's also use the same size ring gear as a dana 44 but have larger diamater shafts and larger ujoints and knuckles.
Supposudlly all 2001 and down superduties came with 50 fronts if single wheel and 60 fronts in duallies, but all 2002's have 60 fronts regardles of single wheel or dulies.
