Ok I just bought my first vechicle (1987 chevy k5 blazer 350 TBI) has about 130,000 miles on it..So yesterday I went to start it uop in the morning about 40-50 degrees..and it sartuggled the first crank then fired right up...Ok now I shut it off to look at something for like 10 secondss(the motor is warm by now) and I got to start it..now the starter clicks for about 5 seconds then the motor starts crnaking slowely than fires up..Is this a bad starter? or could the battry be to small..Ill tell you the battery information today when i go look at it. thanks

Probably a bad battery but could be the starter too. Take the battery out and have an auto parts store check it for you.

check all your engine/chassis grounds.

my yota did the same thing..... charged it over night.....tried jumpin it, nothing worked.. then i started looking around the engine bay.. the ground was off the block. hooked it up, and it cranked really fast and started right up

id have to agree with 77k5 and say the battery is probly the coulprit. not enough cranking amps left in it

yea the battery is new but it might be to small for the 350...it has 750 cranking Amps and 650 Cold Cranking Amps..does that sound strong enough to power this motor??

I just recently started upgrading the batteries in all my rigs...the 675 ampers and such just arent enough. As others said, you may not need a battery, but a decent 1000 cranking amp unit is a good starting point. Iv had good luck with the yellow duralast from walmart.
