im kinda screwed here it looks...

i twisted the pasenger side axle shaft from my 86 grand waggy d44. i have been looking hi and low for a stock one from a junkyard or a heavy duity replacement and from what dtd and randys tell me they discontinued aftermarket shafts. i cant seem to find one in a junk yard... the only 1 i found ended up being too short.

does anyone have one sitting around or know of any companies that do shafts or even a junkyard with one. the shaft measures 29.25"

thanks guys lemmy know what you think.

Isn't your '80 day F&R Dana 60' window almost up? How far did you get?

what did you hit this time?
another curb or maybe a speed bump at 90 mph?

that;s nice to know, I have a 74 cherokee dana 44 in my YJ. I don't have spare shafts yet. I was thinking about just buying after market ones I guess that is out of the question.

there always seem to be alot of wagonners in the pull a parts around here. goto www.pull-a-part.com and check their stock.

ox.... i ended up with 60 front and 14 bolt rear. i have the 14 apart and cleaned im just waiting on parts for it.

the time table was moved because the friend of mine who is buying the axles is still paying me and he doenst need the axles right away. so i should be able to do this with little to no downtime when everything is ready.

i really need to get on the phone and order some bead locks so i can actually bolt everything under the jeep when its all ready.

but first i need to fix the 44 axleshaft because the axle is sold.

Is that 29.25" from end of splines to center of joint? Warn lists the '80 - '84 @ 32.12". I can't see why the '86 would be different, but apparently it is. Dutchman will cut one for you - either Warn or Spicer.

94YJ - Warn does make shafts for your '74.

if you read the shaft was discontinued, and I'm pretty sure the '74 one was too (not direct from warn but a distributer)

Dutchman and currie cut down warn shafts, and I beleive one or both of them cut down stock spicer blanks too (I know currie does)

They're not that hard to find. Dutchman, Moser, and Superior all make that shaft. You just have to know where to look.

Just grab a stock long side axle from any other fullsize. Spend the $40 to have it cut. Or get a warn blank and spend the $40 to have it cut. Or let make a few calls. I should have one back home. you sure on the length?

yeah the length from the base of the shaft out where the wheel studs are is 29.25" if you know of anyone with one let me know.

I have the L & R axle shafts from a 76 cherokee Chief. 30spline w/ 6 bolt pattern. I was told they are "wide track". Do you have a way to cross referance to see if they will work for you?

When they went from left side diff to right side diff, both axle lengthes changed. However there might be another inter-change some where, scout or ford 250 maybe. I know they are also one of the shortest long side axles.

Give me a measurement from end of spline to center of U joint cap. I have a couple of wide trac cherokee's complete and really hate to part the front out. Give me the specs and I'll check.
