Ordered up some rockstomper beadlocks and need to order some 15" 8 lug wheels. Who sells them besides 4WPW? Also, is there an issue of running these beadlocks with a 2.5" backspacing? Someone mentioned about the rim being reversed with less than 3.5" BS so the safety bead from the inside of the rim gets moved to outside where the beadlock is. This will lead to no safety bead on the inside of a reversed rim??? Is this correct?

with the wheel reversed like that it will allow for a saftey bead on the inside. HOWEVER, that bead will allow for a lot less compression and movement of the bead than the original inside bead.

I was told by Allied wheel that with less than 3.5" BS there will be about 1/2" of compression before unseating the bead on the inside. While with the normal set-up there is something like 2" or more. That's why you hardly see tires lose the inner bead, usually the outer.

I bought 3.5" because if I'm getting beadlocks the last thing I want to worry about is now losing the inside bead.

The safety bead on the outside, moves to the inside; the big bell shaped taper part of the wheel, moves to the outside. There's still an inboard safety bead on reversed 15's, it just doesn't have as big a "bell" taper to it, as a non-reversed wheel.

Basically, look at a 15" wheel without a tire on it. There's a ridge on each bead, about an inch in from the outer edge of the bead seat, regardless of whether it's reversed or not. Those two ridges, are the safety beads.

I just dismounted my 2 inch bs beadlocks. I had to work a lot to get that inner bead off. Pain in the butt.

So I should have no problem using 2.5" BS (reversed) 15" wheels? Cool! Now who sells some 15"ers with 8 lugs?
