: Will a TJ body fit on a YJ frame fairly easily?

I have a solid YJ frame, and a solid, but bent TJ tub. I plan on rolling the tub over this weekend and laying my up-side-down frame on it and seeing what it would take to graft on. Can a full cages' tie-ins suffice as body mounts? TJ parts are just easier to come up with, so I would like to use this tub if I can. Any input?

Huh? TJ parts are easier to come up with? What YJ parts are you looking for I'd be happy to swap YJ parts for TJ parts, let me know.

Most of the body mounts won't line up. You can cut them off the frame and relocate them to fit the TJ tub or drill new holes in the tub and keep the mounts on the YJ frame. Where is the TJ tub bent. I would locate a YJ tub and save the time, plus you've got the bent tub to deal with as well. Post up some pics as you go and I'm sure you'll get plenty of good advice here.

Yep, no reason it should not work. Basically you can add your own mounts, or use whatever you are going to use for the cage tie-ins. I ballparked a TJ and Yj cage and tehy are pretty close dimension wise, the TJ being off in some areas. if you are going to build your own cage that is not a factor.

Check out socalchief's buggy buildup for some ideas on the mounting he did cage and chassis tube wise

Ok, since there have be no "no, you have to remove the entire floor and start over" responses... I will flip everything over, and snap some pics.

na83cj- Every yj tub I have looked at here in MI is completely rotted out. At least for the amount of $$ that I have to spend on this project. This TJ tub was free, and I already have a spare tj hood, grille and tailgate from a previous project. Parts may not be easier to find in general, but around my garage they are. Thanks
