ok, all my searches come up with the 5.13 gears and thats it........ what i want to know is what is the 1st. gear ratio on the kick auto tranny???? 1st on std. tranny???? what is the t-case low??? and t-case high??? thanks

thanks....... t-case isn't as low as i was hopping....... i want to run the kick engine, tranny, t-case, then my stock case, and toy axles with a 95" WB...... it's going in my buggy type rig...... i'll just have to get lower R&P gears....... thanks

Auto (3spd) =4.62's
5spd manual = 5.13

So what vehicle do the factory 5.38s come out of. This has been something that has recently started bugging me as my lil cousin wants to lift her kick and put 32's on it. I have complete sets of both the 4.62's and 5.13's but I think with her auto it won't be enough (for street/light duty wheeling). Anybody know? :confused:

i think the early 89 trackers tat had the 1.3L's had something like 5.83 or lower.......

Why not run a 4.1 gearset in your zuk t-case, then you could leave the toy R&P alone. Have you priced R&Ps for toys yet?? What ratio is in your toy axles now?? Going to 5.29s can get pricy, depending upon whether or not you can set the gears up yourself. :flipoff2:

The low factory gears were actually 5.62 and came on the aforementioned 1.3 carburated early 89 kick. Good luck finding it, though!:shaking:

5:62,5:12,4:62 and there was one more gear set offered but dont recall what it was 4:30 maybee while researching the sidekick gear swap I talked to local suzuki shop and this is what they told me, but the 5:12 manual and the 4:62 auto's were the
most popular and easiest to find.

YEAH, i could, but i'd put it in my zuki first....... i need gears for that...... i'm kinda building 2 at once........ never did anything about gears for it yet......planning on running 5.13 R&P and eather an 84 case, or i'll chop the case in hopes of it becomming a 4.16.........

If your cousin is gonna be running 32's, you should look at the 5.83 set from Calmini - it's just the ticket to keep the engine running near the optimum range. Standard 'Kick tires are 27" so moving to 32's would be a 18.5% increase in diameter, and moving from the 5.125 to the 5.83 is almost a 14% reduction.

Oh, and to put 32's under a Kick without serious sawzall work, it's gonna take about 6 inches of lift.

Calmini stuff is a lot more expensive than finding gears at the PnP. I'll just throw the 5.13's in and tell her to deal with it until she can afford the calmini t-case gears.

As for the lift, It's already on order from Calmini (and yes it's 6")
