Allright all what have you all used for steering boxes, other than the stock jeep steering box with the dumbass mounting bracket I have a crossover steering system and I would like to get a box that can be mounted directly to the frame like a GM car steering box is mounted basicly with a tap plate welded inside the frame. Who has the best idea or has done this type of swap?

Jeep cherokees have good Boxes with a spacer that let you mount it flush to the frame.
It's what I used and there always seems to be plenty at the pick a part....no particular year just look for the funky three bolt alum. spacer....oh and they come with a droped pitman.

Waggies or Caddies work good.
Look for a box wih the last 2 digits 76. Its a variable ratio box. Got mine off a Waggy.

gm truck 605 boxes are almost identicle to a stock box, but they have a larger piston in them. this will add a little bit more oomph to your stering.

What do these come on? Got a pic since I have not heard of a 605 box?
I get my steering boxes from late 60s GM cars.

Early style bronco PS box(76-77) also half ton trucks but stay away from the ram assist stuff..If you get a box from a 4X4 it bolts to the outside of the frame a 4X2 box bolts to the inside of the frame.. The main part of the box sits on top of the frame so their is less chance of clearance problems..
