: Humvee Wheels On 8 Lug Chev? 4x4
88K1500TEX 11-30-2006, 11:53 PM Im assuming there will be some spacers required or have the wheels recenter?
Who offers the re centering service whats the amount needed to be relocated too?
I just picked up 8 of these with the 36 12.50 tires. I have to pick them up still but thinking of how to install them as i realized the backspace is little to none
So anyone else running these on a 8 lug gm axle or similar?>
I plan on putting them on an 88Suburban 4x4 with 14bff and D44

The backspace is....alot!
For recentering check the "tech dept." on this board. There are a few very good options for that avenue.
Depending on your setup...mileage may vary.....the wheels may interfer with the steering arms and the tires may rub the frame/inner fenders for starters...as the wheels/tires will be pullled inboard quite a bit.
s10 truggy 12-01-2006, 09:10 AM www.usa6x6.com has stamped centers
I think on shelf so you should get them OK
you can weld them in your self it is easy

I just called that place and they seemed like a good outfit to do buisness with.
I told the man on the phone i had a mig welder and a tire balancer .. and then asked about having them install them he told me not to do that to do it myself and save some $$$
Thats my kinda people
I can even get some 6 luggers to put my extra set on my blazer.
So unless i can find a spacer cheaper wich i doubt that im going to do that.
How easy was it to cut out the old center and put yours in?
HOT_DAMN 12-01-2006, 04:58 PM cutting out the center is cake. If you have a torch or plasma you can just put the tip right inside the outer ring using it as a guid and cut it.
Its nice having a uncle who runs a machine shop where you can have all the wheel centers you need made in house. I LOVE LASER MACHINES.

Do a few searches on the vendor your thinking of buying from.
geberhard 12-01-2006, 05:07 PM There are a few options out there, stamped or pressed plates. Themost common are pressed plates or flat plates. Billavista has a good write-up on Dean's wheels.
:D For a shameless plug: I am actually selling a set of hummer wheel inners recentered already, so if you are looking for some, check the link below, they will bolt on to your outers, if you have hummer 8 lugs, and possibly save you $$ and time, they are ready to go.

x a billion. I have heard lots of bad things about him on here. Not many vendors get banned from this site.

Really? Product Quality Or Customer Service?
Who else offers the centers. ?
I kinda got to looking at the flat ones like ole boy posted the link too.
i just picked up 8 of them with tires Or i might be interested in the already modified ones.
Maybe i could find me a machine shop to cut me some flat centers out.
Jeepermat 12-01-2006, 06:07 PM Customer service and sometimes the actual product stinks, just google USA6x6, you will find tons of stuff about him

SERVICE........mostly!
88K1500TEX 12-01-2006, 06:12 PM OK Well Where can i Obtain Some Centers Anyone On The Board Make Them On Cnc Or Such.? 8 on 6.5
I kinda wondered if his centers were cheap 8 lug wheels with the wheels machined off the centers.
no they are cheap centers bought before they are welded into a wheel.
there are at least half a dozen vendors selling centers on this site, look in the vendors section
88K1500TEX 12-09-2006, 04:45 PM If i was to get some lug spacers made what size works for most people i had read 2 1/2 inch on someones jeep page on the net.
I kinda prefer the idea of the spacers so i can put any humvee wheel i may get in the future right on my right with no tire swapping or mods.

I kinda prefer the idea of the spacers so i can put any humvee wheel i may get in the future right on my right with no tire swapping or mods.I've seen a guy on another board who's runnin 1.5" spacers on his CUCV and his tire rubs the draglink a little bit at full steer,(he's running stock type steering) I think that a 2" or 2 1/2" spacer would be perfect. Im planning on running 2" on my truck but I will also be going to crossover steer
senatorfrisky 12-10-2006, 09:02 PM 16.5" hmmwv wheels have 7" backspacing.
you'd have to double spacers to get back into a normal range around 4".
i wouldn't run spacers.
dean reed (in the vendor section) looks to have some great products. i'm considering buying just the centers from him, as i just picked up a set of hmmwv wheels myself.
in the tech section, the beadlock writeup from feb 16, 2006 has all sorts of info you would be intersted in
H2 wheels, which lots of people run, have 5.5" of BS. So a 2" spacer should be plenty.
DRKelly 12-11-2006, 09:46 AM Go with pressed/dished centers. I believe most making flat centers are using 1/2" thick plate to combat bending.
muddermilitia 12-11-2006, 12:34 PM check this out, http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=187590
Iliketowaxmyjimmy 12-11-2006, 05:00 PM i ran into the same thing but ive still got a 6 lug front and im gettin the axle w/ the tires and H1 rims. im still gonna need a spacer up front right?? so why not get a 6-8 lug spacer so i kill 2 birds w/ one stone?? good or bad idea??
88K1500TEX 12-12-2006, 12:32 AM After looking it over i dont think a 6-8 Adaptor would work it damn sure couldnt use all 6 To Retain The Adaptor unless it was a two piece adaptor
I am going to convert the Corp 10 in the front over to 8 lug unless i can find a better deal on an entire frontend preferably in 4.10 ratio and 8 lug as thats what gear the rear i plan on installing is.
I kinda Thought About Trying To Obtain A Dually Front Axle But Im Thinking For Sure Get Some Spacers.
I was Just Wanting To See A Working Setup And A Certain Number Thickness.
Im hoping a local machinist can make me some for cheap Althou I had Found A Pair On Ebay W Studs And Lugnuts For 80$+ Ship
Im Hoping To Get Four Made Locally For Cheap And Press In My Own Studs
Are Most People Running The Spacers F&R? Or Just The Frontend?
I had Planned on Getting Four Spacers
And the Cross over Steering Is In My Plans For My Truck As Soon As I Get Some Extra Cash To Send In Along With The Knuckle Ive Acquired.
Thanks For The Info .
Iliketowaxmyjimmy 12-12-2006, 08:14 AM i would careless if it was 2 piece i just need something reliable and something that works
ccatlett1984 12-12-2006, 04:36 PM I have a cucv k30 and am running 2" spacers with the stock steering, no rubbing at all.
Iliketowaxmyjimmy 12-12-2006, 06:40 PM welp guess im gonna be spending $300 minus some brake backing plates to convert to 8 lug front and then ima run a 2.5 spacer up front.
