Some background:

I DID NOT BUILD THIS...

This Scout came to me from a customer because it had some minor steering issues.
The previous builder in Montana (sold over e-bay) did not bother to put in and spring or perch bushings to allow for maximun flex. They cut out the crossmember in front of the motor and placed a Ford 300 Strait 6 in there with a 2WD tranny:eek: . Then they cut out parts of the core support and hung the radiator with electrical box brackets(super trick :grinpimp: as it allows it to absorb bouncing as it moves). The spring over is great Montana mayhem. The Bottie fab home job perches are off center and cockeyed just a bit. They fliped one of the center pins, then just decided to drill out the perch to 5/8" or so to allow the axle to move back and forth again for flex i assume. The shock mounts are pure genius...Nuf said. No draglink angle correction was done. The caster was set at -6 to allow the tires to track in the trail ruts (Nice no hands on wheel only on beer thinking) There is more but this should be enough to laugh at for the day. Ya all own me .02 cents for the humor of the day. Please give it to the foundation for Bottie fab recovery addicts of America.

Yea i get to fix this mess. Boy what fun. What sucks is the Scout tub is in excellent condition and has new paint and is straight too boot. Man i have seen so many bad spring overs its not even funny. Back to work I go.

Thanks for clearifying ~ I originally skimmed the pictures to see what you were up to ~ needless to say the above clearification put my mind at ease. Good luck, those closed knuckle axles suck and shouldn't be allowed to stick around.

EDIT:Please tell me your swappin' to D44s and going to go SOA with this....PLEASE!

Dude,
Don’t ever even think in your head that I would build something so Life Threatening and Dangerous, not to mention so ugly and hideous.

As for the 44’s and bla bla, the owner just wants it to drive nice as a 2wd. I don’t think he is planning on keeping it. The 66 V-8 800 in the next bay over is getting 44’s Disk brakes, Power steering, electric wipers, and some other Mods to pound the Seattle area with:cool2: After that my project list looks like this: A Dana 60 strait axle conversion to clear 38-15.5-16 swampers, a built 302 swap, and custom 9-12 inch lift on a 89 Ford Bronco. Then a restoration/build up of a 1967 800 half Cab from Colorado. Next up finish the two 80/800 bodies on Scout 2 frames and running gear projects, a few cage projects in between these, then My Ultimate 1st ever to be done in the Nation 2005 Chevy 8.1 liter(496 CID) Allison Automatic Scout 2 Conversion.:grinpimp:

First, dude, I didn't. Believe it or not man, I don't hate ya. I was just shocked at first and it took me a second to realize you were just messing around. As I was skimming the pictures I thought "No way" then I saw the big red note. Thats all.

For a left-coaster, you need to chill! :D :p

Sounds like someone has a Guilty Conscious:p Hahhahahaha
Ya know when i first saw the truck and heard it was from tana I thought to myself could this be the long lost Manderism's brainchild of a Guy i know there????? Then it hit me, the fab work was done with a Torch and not a Hacksaw, drillpress, holesaw, and the welding was done with an arc welder. Nope Not Tom i said with a Holiday Smile:D
