: REDO: How long has your lockrite lasted?

Seeing another thread on a problem with a lockrite made me wonder how other peoples are holding up and for how long.

Mine: 8.5 years and still working fine:eek:

Up until about 1 month ago it had been in the back of my v-8 cruiser with 35" (36" tsls for 2 years) tires on it the entire time.

No real rockcrawling here in WA but we do have alot of loose rocky hills in the cascades here.

I am not light on the throttle...I like to hear the ponies thunder under the hood:D

you need a less than 25 days on the trail, but mine went when the birf gernaded.

So it sounds like yours would fit into the 0 years category:D

I hope mine doesn't explode. I put it in the front w/ the bobby long birfields.

They dont call them "LockWrongs" for nothing:flipoff2:

Weld up the rear end and have done with it!

I've had one in the rear of my FJ60 for about 5 years and it still works fine. I hate it, but it still works! It has about 30K on it as well.

so far so good. (only a few months)
I'm surprized at how many people complain about the clicks, only sound I ever hear outta mine is the bang that scares the shit outta pedestrians as I go by.
other than the occasional clang, I'd never know it was back there.
still may weld the rear , and throw it in the front , cause I'm cheap, and I want to see what the welded is like on the road. and how badly it eats the tires.
cheers

Mine has lasted in the front for about 4 years now. I had one in the rear for about 3 yrs. It went the very first trip with 35's though.

I have had mine in the rear for over 8 years and never had a problem. I was running 33" TSL's the whole time. I just added 35" SSR's and another Lockright to the front and so far so good.

Although, I had never snapped a birfield until I put in the front locker  ........ I guess traction does have a down side;)

I can honestly say that I am happy with it's performance. It's cheap and it works.......:flipoff2:

3 years in the rear of my 40 running 33s and other than the constant clicking around corners I can't complain. I just put one in the front. Hopefully it will hold up just as well.

I have used an EZ Locker in the rear of my FJ62 for 3 years and other than some bent springs (self-inflicted de-installation problem) I have had no problems.

I have a question for some with experience with both EZ and lockrite. I cannot get new springs and pawls from Tractec for my EZ but have been told I could swap in lockrite springs in their place. Has anyone tried this and does it work?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks! Dann

A question for those whose lockers didn't last very long...

Did you check the clearances? I've checked mine about once a year and always made sure that the side shims were thick enough. Another tip is if you are having problems with the locker, take it out and turn it around so the opposite side of the teeth are under pressure during acceleration (i.e when it locks up).

Thanks for the input guys:)
