Is the timing chain the same between SB chevy and 4.3L? I hear it's a SB with the 2 rear cylinders cut off, so will a gear drive timing set work? Anyone know for sure?

they are not the same.

the 94 and early 4.3 is a roller cam motor and you probally could use a roller cam 350 chain. the 95 is also a roller cam but also has a counter balnced shaft and no 350 has a counter shaft. the counter shaft runs off the gear.

Hey SeaBass44, if you're running FI and have a knock sensor, those gear drives, especially the 'noisy ones' give a hella lot of false knock retards............unless you bypass your KS.

yah my 94 had the counter balance shaft in there so you cant use the gear drive at least for that particular one.

I dont know all part number stuff

but I have a 90 degree v6 and it uses the
same stuf as a v8

I also realize that ther were 2 diferent vershions
of this moter I have both.

I know the earlyer v6 usees diferent
lifter pan covers,

I am also useing the gear drive buy
earlandson it is the 3 gear set up
not the 4 gears.

it sounds great and you never have to wory about
timming chain
it is not very loud at idle but if you step on the gas you can hear it.
