Just want to say thanks to whoever returned my buddies wallet that was found on the Con. We were up there on Labor Day weekend and my friend Curtis lost his wallet. He called me the other day and told me it showed up in the mail with a New York post mark, all of his stuff and most of his cash. This just goes to show what an awsome community of wheelers we have. I also lost my wallet on the Con that weekend, dident even know it was gone untill I stopped at Robbs on my way home. I started talking to some guys that I met out on the trail, and one of them asks if I lost a wallet. It turns out that I dropped it at spider lake. Needless to say I spent all the money I had, (and they returned it all), on buying them drinks at Robbs. How many other places can you go and even imagine that happening. Thanks again for showing me what great people we have up on the Con (for the most part). to you guys:smokin:

Thats's cool that people would take the effort to return the wallets pretty much intact.
My question is how did both of you loose your wallets on the same trip?

Yea it was weird that I lost mine havent done that in years, but Curt looses his wallet very frequently. He has extras on hand to replace any that gets lost, complete with I.D.s. Maybe we were having to good of a time:beer:  :D

Is amazing how cool the majority of people are up there!! Someone sent me my lost fire permit in the mail last year. Not a wallet but for someone to take the time and use a stamp and all.....well I just think that is a good indicator of the caliber of people we share the trail with! :cool2:

Reminds me of the time my brother lost his keys snow wheeling and about a month later they showed up at the front door. Someone found them and returned them to Ace Hardware because he had the little Ace card on the key chain and Ace mailed the keys to my brother. Great to hear similar story!
I am curt. I lost my wallet and I want to throw out a thanks for the honest person who returned it. I owe someone a drink/bowl.:smokin: What sucked was I just got paid and was about 80 miles from thank god for friends. someone from new york sent it to me about a month later. They said they would have sent it sooner but they were mid way through a massive cross countey 4x4 trip. I lose my wallet about every 3 months so I have many back-ups. but I am trying something new, I bought a chain. but keep your eyes open will be going on the trail in a month or so

I lost my wallet on the con near Miller back in 1980....about 6 months later...after the snow thaw and dry up....someone mailed it to me. All contents inside.
Last year..I lost a camera....someone found it...looked through the pictures, recognized me and mailed it to me.
So...when I found a camera near Bowman in September with an address on it...I sent it to him...he was shocked.

Matt, & Cutris need to keep there pants up & not around there ankles & they wont loose their wallets anymore ;)
Not the con, but a few years ago I was wheeling my old Ford (was with Blase also, before Curtis rolled the Blazer & it turned into a camaro) & I tore up my front spiders, & had to leave the truck. Next day we go back & there is a guy camped 1/4 mi from my truck & flaggs us down....he goes on to tell us that he is up there hunting bear, & left one of his bear dogs there at my truck, so no one would mess with it. Shure enough, go to the truck & there was his dog tied to it. & not a single thing missing from inside.
