more info? year, engine, type fuel pump, etc. At first guess I would say if its an electric external pump, get an internal pump, especially if its a cheap one. I went through this when I went with an efi460 in a 79 bronco. Tried everything under the sun to avoid what I kinda knew from the beginning. Put a new tank with internal pump in it and never a problem again.

you need to put the pump as close to the tank as you can get it..your putting the pump too far...causing it to have to work ALOT harder to PUSH the fuel...most electric pumps arnt very good at pulling from a distance...too much strain on it..
