Does anyone have any negative thoughts towards running the hummer beadlocks.

I don't know what the $$$ objection is for. Stock Hummer wheels with the internal beadlock's are all over for probably less than $500 for a set. A hell of a lot less $$$ than any others. And, you might be able to score a deal. I just got 5 of em' for $315. That included freight to my door.

The only drawback I can see is the size and backspacing. Size being 16.5. But there are lots of tire choices in that size range so it's not a big problem, you just have to pick one.

Backspacing, 7". But if you know a decent machine shop and can weld or your brother can, get some new centers made in 5, 6 or 8 lug and put whatever backspacing you want in them. If you want to spend money there are a few places you can get custom Hummer wheels in about any configuration you want. You can do them for cheap though, and it's not that difficult.

FearMe, any chance you could hook me up with that 5 for 315 deal?

That is a pretty good deal. I have found them for close to that cheap, and yeah I dont know what the $$$ were about. I dont think the guy had a clue.

Just meant by $$$ that they're more than your Joe Schmoe wheels or what you got now. They're pretty cheap when you compare them to other beadlocks.
Just messin with ya. Go for em, they're sweet.

They are the cheapest beadlock I've found. I was going to get RockStompers kit, around $400 till I got them to me the way I wanted. Then after a little hunting around I ended up with 10 hummer wheels, 5 of them for $50 each. And 5 of them with 1/2-3/4 tread 36 MTs for $75 each. Then sold the tires to my friend for $200. And I'm having a new set of centers made for the one set localy. All in all I will have $400 into them and end up with 5 on 5.5 lug pattern, what ever back space I want, and both beads will be locked.

mccombs, you are gay and should never run any sort of beadlocks. besides i don't think you need them to turn your 32's at the mall:flipoff2:

Well swamper whatever your name is, I think you may be right. Thats why i am leaving the mall to go to you mothers to pay her a conjical visit. then I am going to the tire store and i am going to buy some tires that are bigger than your head. I dont know who you are but you remind me of someone with not enough horsepower and too much puss.

They're kind of heavy (if that matters to you). I haven't done it yet but my plan is to leave the my hummer wheels as is and use a 2" wheel spacer at the front Dana 60. They will clear the 14FF rear brakes just fine, and the spacer should be enough to clear up front (and also keep the hub of the rocks). I figure the massive offset will allow me to run the 14 bolt full width on my CJ and still not be too wide (I will narrow the front to match).
