I saw a CV joint that was installed on a SOA on the rear axle in one of Woody's tech articles. Where would be a good source for this joint. Is a mini truck joint too small/weak? Just checkin'
Thanks

Pete,

Some folks source them from front FJ-60 driveshafts (85-87?guessing on the year here...)

If you want a good new shaft, check out highangledriveline.com Jess is the MAN!

I had a spacer/adapter made that bolted to the e-brake drum and allowed me to run a flanged Dana/Spicer CV.

Here is a pic of the Saginaw CV joint I have on my FJ40. These are much stronger than the mini truck or FJ60 joints, and stronger than the Spicer units as well. A good driveline shop should be able to provide you with a Saginaw CV. Having said that, I would still recomend Jess and his products, simply because of his support for this board and his customer service.
