I have a 87 full size Blazer that all of a sudden has a clickking noise from the front wheel. The noise seems to be mainly on the left side. When it is clicking and I come to a stop the noise stops but as I start going again I get two or three clunking noises. The clicking does not start up right away after I stop but as I speed up the noise comes back. The wild thing is that the noise is not always there.
Any help?
Thanks

My guess would be the bearings, mine did the same as you described when the bearings went out in it, when I pulled it apart the bearings where destroyed. I'd pull it apart soon since I have hear horror storyes of wheels coming off due to the bearings going out.

Either a hub, or center cap.........Bearings normally don't click when they are going out.....:skull:

I've always heard bearings start to grind before they go out, never heard any rattle, but I'm sure it could happen. The easiest way to find it is to jack up the truck and spin the tire by hand, that way you can be really close to the noise.

I had a bad clicking noise when going down the road and really bad when turnning when the bearings went out after my truck sat in the mud for a couple of hours.

I had a cliking noise on the 74 I had a few years ago and while driving down the freeway one day BAM! broke 4 lugs on the right rear. Replaced the lugs and no more clicking.
