ok i know maybe this should be in the newb area but i want some experienced info here. has anyone ever thought of dropping a cherokee body onto a chevy chassis (or any other brand)? i have an old chevy truck sitting here with no title or chance to get one, and a chance for a free jeep cherokee no motor blown tranny. i know id have to fab up some kind of unibody stiffener to also mount the body to the chassis, and fab work is not a major problem.

as it would be the chevy chassis is a 305/465/205(and could be a 203 doubler), 44 front(6 lug)/12 bolt rear. i have no problem moving components around on the frame. and the wheels would not need to fit under the wheel wells, this would just be a toy.

well any info good or bad would be appreciated. thanks

You are right this is not the right forum for this. XJ on a frame has been done before, but it is a lot of work. Checkout naxja.org and do some reading. Lots of info there.
