I am looking to upgrade my birfs. pretty soon, and from what I have read the lonfields look to be the best bet. The only problem I see is that his web site says "we also do some landcruisers" but does not specify which. Does he do fj62s? If so, what is the best way about purchasing these axles? Since I live in WA, that might be an advantage.

An FJ62 uses the same Birfields as a mini-truck. Get them directly from Bobby Long, that seems the easiest.

Henry is correct, the 62's are the same and therefore fall into the "some landcruisers" catagory. Contact Bobby directly, info is here Longfield web site (http://www.angelfire.com/ab6/axle/index.html)

Keep in mind these are modified to not break and the process will result in wear that isn't found in the stock ones. Be sure to ask Bobby about this so you know in advance what to expect.

he softens the inner cage so it won't break as easy. it will wear faster because of the softening. mike

I thought it was the opposite, he softened the outer bell and hardened the inner race. Either way the result is they will wear faster than a stock birf. Get the scoop straight from Bobby, otherwise it's heresay!
