Does anyone know more about this?
"There is going to be a meeting at the Placerville Rangers Station on Forni road on May 16th at 7:00pm to discuss future use of Eldorado Forest for OHV use. The Forest service says they want our input so be there."

I just got off the phone with the person in charge of the meeting (Lester Lubetkin). It is an informal meeting from 7pm - 9pm regarding recreation funding/grants for projects & maintenance.
There will be opportunity for comments to be sent in via email/FAX.
I hope to have more info to post after I receive an email from him.

Dear Eldorado Forest User:
The Eldorado National Forest is developing applications for Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) Cooperative Funds for the upcoming 2002-2003 cycle. We would like to hear your comments and suggestions concerning our applications. The Eldorado has received OHV Grant funds from the State of California for a number of years. These funds have played an important part in helping us to provide this recreational opportunity and for resource protection associated with OHV use.
We anticipate our 2002-2003 applications will include a Forestwide Summer O&M application for funding of OHV trail maintenance, resource protection, signing, patrols and law enforcement, public information and assistance, and ongoing resource monitoring. These activities will occur on each of the four Ranger Districts. In addition, we anticipate preparing an application for funding to construct a toilet to serve visitors to the Rubicon 4WD Trail and Ellis Tie 4WD Trail. A third appliction is being developed for funding to operate and maintain the Silver Bear snowmobile trail system, and to manage snowmobile use near Desolation and Mokelumne Wildernesses.
We need your ideas and comments about our OHV Program, and your thoughts on how we can incorporate your suggestions. We also welcome your suggestions regarding the future of the Forest's overall OHV Program. Please send your written comments, suggestions, or letters of support for the Program by May 20, 2002, to Lester Lubetkin (llubetkin@fs.fed.us), Recreation Officer, Eldorado National Forest, 100 Forni Road, Placerville, CA 95667, or contact the District OHV Program Managers shown below:

We have scheduled an Open House for all interested folks to meet with Forest and Ranger District Staff. The purpose of the Open House will be to discuss our Grant Applications and to give you another avenue to provide your suggestions, comments, or ideas The Open House is scheduled for Thursday, May 16, 2002, in the Large Conference Room at the Eldorado National Forest Supervisor’s Office, 100 Forni Road, Placerville. You are invited to drop in between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM, to meet with representatives from each of the Districts and provide your comments.
