FOTR and the Rubicon Trail got a wonderful write up by Rick Pewe (Editor) in his 4xForward column of the Feb. 2007 issue of Petersen's 4Wheel and Off-Road. Please go out and find a copy...find two, buy out the store. Let's show Rick some serious support by buying his magazine even if you already get it. Let's clean out the shelves.

Here's why I ask you to do that:

Here are some of the things he had to say:
,,,for beauty and the experience of a lifetime, it must be the Rubicon Trail.

...founder, Del Albright and (FOTR) take care of the trail for all us users, and contributing to the cause is in all of our best interests.

...but it (the Rubicon) may be closed if its not take care of...

and he goes on to list our entire mission statement from our web site (here: http://www.delalbright.com/Rubicon/who.htm)
and talk about how we are saving the trail.

You cannot buy this kind of support and acknowledgement for our work. Rick means what he says in his column. And FOTR gets the credit for showing the world how to manage a trail right.

Let's pay back. Let's buy every copy we can find. Give out your extra ones. Give them to a non-joiner. It's an easy thing for us to do. Plus, if you're so inclined, write Rick an email and thank him for his support of our efforts.
Email Rick Pewe (pronounced pay-way): mailto:4wheeloffroad@primedia.com

Thanks, Del

I no sooner posted the bit about Rick Pewe and Petersen's (above), when I opened my 4Wheel Drive & Sport Utility magazine and there's Kevin McNulty (also Primedia) doing his entire column about responsible use and keeping our common sense when on our trails. WOW. Awesome!

Remember, for years these magazines sold because of big rigs on the cover and lots of coverage of trucks/rigs in rocks etc. Shoot, we still like plenty of that. But now we have two major magazines in their headline columns talking about the Rubicon and land use, access and being responsible. Boy...maybe I can retire from this land use job and go fishing pretty soon. ;)

Anyway, you can thank Kevin by emailing him at: kevin.mcnulty@primedia.com

See my web site write up here: http://www.delalbright.com/Access/primedia.htm

Outstanding job Del.

Thanks for the update, and we will make sure we buy one of both magazines to support them on these.

You would be bored fishing, and they smell after a while when in your jeep.
