ok, i know this has been covered here and elsewhere before... but does anyone know of a supplier for this spacer? (the one that allows you to mate a 27-spline np205 to a th700r4 with the t-case's original th350 adapter) I know advanced adapters has the short shaft kit... but a simple spacer could be done for less... I dont wanna pay a tranny shop all the $$$ to swap in the different tailshaft. Its the last thing to come out... and the labor $ would be a killer.

Anyway, if anyone knew of a supplier, lemme know.

Alternatively, I have designed my own spacer in full 3d on AutoCAD.... if any machinists out there are interested in checking it out and give'in me an estimate, lemme know, I'll email the design to ya.

thanks in advance,

J

yeah, i contacted SW at ORD a while back and asked him about it and they seem to be too busy making doublers to do much else. Not to mention that ORD charges a premium for their machining work. No doubt they make good stuff.... but if I already have the design issues worked out, I can prolly have it made elsewhere for less.

It was for puting a TH350 car trans in a truck. I have one in my truck (700/205) with the spacer. The only thing i had to do was take the unspline part off the output shaft. It was like 1/8 or 1/16in. Then you have to run studs in the trans that are 5 or 6 in long. I could not find any that were grade 5 or 8 so I got a 6 in 3/8 bolt and taped down to the head then cut the head off and used them. I've had no problems in the year and a half I've been runing the set up. I think I have one more spacer left let me know if you need it.

so does this mean that the only reason to get the aa kit is to get a short shaft? a spacer will make the things fit?

anyone got a pic?
