Has anyone run into any write-ups or have any experience to comment on the possibility of converting a YJ vintage ignition to the TJ distributorless ignition?

rip the harness and pcm out, throw in the newer pcm and follow the factory wiring diagram.

no write up needed. way more work than its worth. its waste spark anyway and that kind of sucks.

If I use the new computer, I would need to change all the sensors and most likely the fuel delivery system since OBDII uses 8 volts for their signal and OBDI uses 5 volts - you can't mix them. I was curious to see if someone had fabricated a 5 volt solution to use with this or if there was a third-party interface to make it work since I have the whole distributorless system (including the stubby non-distributor that contains the sensor & all the wiring).

The wasted spark is fairly common and the concept has been used for a lot of years, my '51 harley fired on both cylinders each time (it used a double cammed breaker & had one coil with two HT leads comming out) - one just helped the exhaust burn a bit. I think the old harley 45 ci had the same ignition, but not sure - it's been a long time since I had those bikes.
