Need to locate a 7 degree tapered reamer. Who knows where I can get one that's not gonna cost me the farm?

I got mine from Goodson for about $70. I have done 8 sets of arms using a 18V drill and the thing is still razor sharp.

Yeah, Thanks. It seems that the going rate is around $70-80 bucks. Was looking for something about half that. How about bringin' yours over and reaming my pitman arm? The fit wasn't good enough to seat the tie rod end in so I could use the nut (without grinding the bottom and way over torquing the nut) and cotter pin.

I order all of my machine tooling from Production Tool Supply here in michigan. Their phone number for the lansing store which I use is 1-800-323-6773. I just looked in my catalog, and most the tapered reamers are $30-$40, There were a few really large ones 1-1.25" taper 12" long that were in the $70 price range. I have no idea which size you need for a tie rod taper, but I believe it needs to be 1/2" per foot. If you know your sizes you need and what not, give the number a call, their sales people are great and should be able to set you up. You just need a credit card to order.

Thanks, I checked their online catalog and they didn't list the one that I need. Which is too bad as there are two stores within 15 miles of my house.

Call them, they have tons of crap not in the catalog. They only list the most popular machine tools in their catalog.

Thanks! That's about what I'd like to pay. I'm gonna give Production Tool a call and see if they've got one, if not I've gotta get one online.

Another vote for the XKut. Works well, and it's made in the USA.
Also, to get technical, it's not 7*. It's 7* 9' 10". Also noted as 1.5" per foot taper.

I got and xkut (on ebay) as well. Back when I got mine it was like $42 shipped. 1.5 inch taper per foot is what you want. Good quality tool but it would be better if it had spiral flutes on it like the stock car products one. I bet he sells most of his tapered reamers to guys on this forum. He should come over here and become a vendor. :)
FWIW Snapon has a remer that i think will lork for like 35-40 bucks. P# R121

Another option is to get a straight reamer sharpened to the correct taper.... in my case worked out about half the price of a new one all they needed was a steering arm to fit to
