I was thinking of using that newfangled plastic wood used on the rich folks house for the deck of my 1 ton flatbed truck.
Looks sturdy, quiet and I doubt it will rot. Any one try this on a trailer or truck?

You're right, it won't rot. Neither will wood, if it's prepared and taken care of correctly. Wood also won't cost a very pretty penny, is not nearly as heavy and, unlike plastic wood, can take structural loads.

There are some old posts on here somewhere about how that composite plastic wood will not support the load.

Have you checked on composite woods ability to resist petroleum products?

I would be worried about heat problems too, especially you have a tendancy to overheat things like me...

It has no rigidity. You would have to support it on 6 inch centers, and it would still sag between the supports under a tire or other point load.

saw a deck built out of that stuff over the summer. the deck was warped under it's own weight by the hot sun. 16 inch centers.
no way i'd park a load on it.
