*******SNOW RUN NOW SATURDAY THE 3rd of MARCH 2007*******



Theres going to be a good snowrun to the highlakes (next to paradise/magaila about 3hrs above Sac to get to the good snow) on the (EDIT: MARCH 3RD SAT). Im from chico and i thought id spread the word from the marlin board to here. i know there are a bunch of good guys coming already. there will also be a snow run there as well in the next few weeks (dec. 23/06). if you havent been to the highlakes and go, you wont regret it. check out the thread for maps of the area. all are welcome.

What kind of tires do ya got? YOu don't need low gears for snow, but big tires and locker help just a bit.

ill try and get my shit together. by the 27th of jan, im sure ill be able to wheel again. the one in late dec, maybe not. its a lot of $$$ to go snow wheeling for the day when you have to trailer your rig.

where you from? this next trip should be pretty good. it sounds like quite a few people are making it up. on saturday there was 9 trucks that made it.

im in lincoln. Right next to Rocklin. Its like half an hour north of sacramento. Im actually thinking about running a trail on saturday if the shop gets the fuel injection kit put on my jeep by then. But we will see.

the date for this trip is still on but its up in the air with it being sunny for the last 2 weeks. ive had friends go up to the highlakes 5 days ago and said it was crap snow because of the weather. this date is still on but it might get thrown back due to the sunny weather the last couple weeks.

its looking like this trip is more than likely going to be pushed back to the 3rd or 10th of Feb. its not set in stone yet, but its still been sunny out every day and hitting 25 at night here in chico! which more than cold enough for snow at the highlikes, but no rain of course. ill keep this updates as time goes.

whats in plan then if the 2 month route happens?

spring under and traction bar'd Mog 404s, and a tacoma case behinde my 4.7 minitruck case to get the drivers side drop for the mogs. going to run 8 lug and disc brakes a local guy is making.

if i can get my axles sold (BTW, check the classifides for my axles) ill be able to get the Mogs, the taco case, the adapter, and redo everything else before too long.

im not to sure if this highlakes trip is even going to happen anymore. supposedly its not going to rain/snow for another few weeks atleast, so this trip might be canceled or we may end up going to the rubicon or fordyce. ill keep everyone informed.

There isn't any snow of mention at fordyce, just huge sheets of ice. I was up there last weekend and didn't even get to the downhill towards the first water crossing because I didn't want to slide off the cliff the ice was so bad.

That's what I was afraid of. I wonder how the ice is coming from Meadow and down WH5, if you could get down and back up that, you could run down 3 to the last crossing easily enough?


Some guys from the postponed lillbuddy trip are heading to the clay pits to check out the rock pile. I should be there for a little while.

btw, anyone have any extra case for sale? im thiking about just swapping out a 2.28 case for the winter and then putting my 4.7 case in during the summer cause im too poor for duals. swapping a case only takes me 20 min.
