: Engine movement after swaps?

I did a toy 22r swap and discovered that the engine and all torqued forward instead of side to side. Also noticed on the stock tin-top that the t-case also torques forward. ( when the case tried to jump out at some dunes!) Now I'm doing a 4.3 swap and wondering if the engine will move forward also. Is this a special problem that only I have? On 2 Zuks? Or is this why the 2-wheel drives also have a transfer case?

Maybe the tranny mount is busted:D

Do you have much spline showing on your rear driveshaft? If you are 'launching' your truck & the engine is moving forward, perhaps the rear axle is wrapping, collapsing the driveshaft & pushing the eng. & tranny?
Something has got to be wrong - it defies the laws of physics for an engine Not to try & roatate under a load!

All new mounts. The engine will torque sideways if a motor mount is busted or loose, but doesn't seem to when tight. Not dumping the clutch. Pulled up against a full size chev bumper, in low range, front hubs unlocked, manually idle up and slowly let the clutch out, watch everything move foreward, then the tires start to spin. When you push in the clutch, the engine moves "back" to it resting place. This thing also happens on the stocker. Thought about spline binding, but it is not collapsing all the way. Maybe just binding at the splines?
