I have a 1992 Dodge Dakota Sport 2wd.
I am going to SAS it with fullwidth 44/60 on 38s.

I want to convert it to 4wd and was wondering what would be the best swap. Swapping from the AW4, and want to stay with an automatic.

Was also looking at maybe keeping the tranny and doing a divorced transfercase.

Opinions/advice?

Are you wanting to keep overdrive? If you want to keep it overdrive, you may not want it divorced. A 2wd transmission with an overdrive is pretty long. If you want it in a 3 speed, use a short tail housing with a fixed yoke.

What motor do you have? Do you want lower t-case gears? Do you want overdrive?

It has the 3.9L Magnum V6

I dont care a whole lot about overdrive..it will be a trail rig that will occasionally be driven to and from the trail.
