ok.heres the deal.i just recently got my cj up and running after a rewire.its been running for about 3 weeks with no issues.so i took it for its maiden voyage today.drove it up and down the street a few times with no problems.then i got a little brave and ventured a few miles from home.... and it came home on a strap.was running fine.drove it up and down the street a few times then with no warning a huge shotgun blast bang and it died.won't restart.it pops and crap thru the mufflers but will not start.i've done the easy things like a new module,checked for power at the + side of the coil with the key on,made sure the rotor button was turning,and checked all wiring and connections for looseness,shorts,etc.
when i bought this thing back in july it had already had a tfi upgrade done but it was running off a toggle switch due to the battery falling into the motor and burning the entire harness out of it.all it had was ignition on a toggle switch,push button start,and a charging system.when i nstalled my new harness it was plug and play other than putting a new plug on the coil wires to plug into the tfi coil.what went bad?where do i start from here?thanks in advance for any help
