You mean this year or all together?;) Plus I still need to do it one more time.

Worse, no windshield frame and the dash stripped with the tub filled with sand from sandblasting. I was so into working on it though I didn't take any pictures.

How about all together Sloan. Yeah, I want to rip the dash apart and redo all the wiring, but I also really want to drive this thing. It has been way too long. I am sure that this will be the first of many times of completely stripping my cruiser down.
Cruiser Ken, actually the windshield frame is only being held on by two bolts per side right now. I would take it off, but I am running out of places to put stuff. I wish that I had a sandblasting unit handy, it would make some of this work really easy.

I've only had the windshield off twice. The complete interior and dash blown out twice and just the interior about 5 times. You get faster at it and less and less goes back in each time.

Mine looks almost like that right now, hood up and all. The only dif is I have the seats in. I just got released to go back to work, off on disability for a while so now the $ will be coming back in. So as long as there isn't to much  and:smokin: going on I hope to be ready for summer.:)

Nice!!! That is one bare cruiser. How long do you think until you are done with her(on the current projects)? Just curious.

This is rest of mine. Notice the axle isn't attached yet to the frame. :D

I'm hoping to get my engine completed and the SO front axle done by the end of next week. Just in time for the 36s I have coming next week! Then the SO rear axle, Then some sheet metal work on the tub, then it comes off. then the frame and springs (actually taking the front springs off my 76 and looking for some 55 springs for the rear) and axles get cleaned up and painted, if they haven't been already. Then the tub gets painted and lined. Then.... Maybe the end of the summer!! I just had surgery yesterday on my ankle that may keep me out of the cockpit for the next couple months, but I hope to be back into the garage next week!!

Oh yeah, notice the SO axle housing resting on the frame?? :D

ouibus

Yes, I did happen to notice that you had that housing up on the frame rails getting ready to have the perches welded on. The one thing you don't see if my photos is the new axles that I am putting under her. I am selling the current axles that have, and going a different route. Kinda of frustrating considering I already sprung over these axles and rebuilt the front one. I figure this way I can transport these before I have to put fluid in them. It also makes it easier for the person buying them.

Almost forgot to say, I am sorry that you had to have surgery. Hopefully the recovery goes well. I know that having limited movement can be a pain most of the time. I have had my fair share of surgeries so I can feel your pain. Hopefully I won't need another one anytime soon.

Thanks for the wishes. Nothing major. Just sprained my ankled playing soccer too many times in my life and had to get some bone spurs removed. It just allows me sit around in bed and yell down to the CinC when I need a drink or a sandwich while I cruise the net!! :smokin:

Nice pic! I feel your pain on the spraining the ankle thing. I have done it so many times playing sports that they have talked about putting a pin in one of my ankles. Hopefully it never comes to that. Also, that is a sweet view that you have there. It must be nice living up in Steamboat. I only wish that Ft. Collins looked like that. Oh well, I still love this town.:D

WOW FJSRULE!!!
I bet you neighbors down in Englewood just love you. Is that a FJ45 you are working on also in the back ground? Or are you just grafting a FJ45 cab onto a FJ40? At any rate, it looks good.

Crusier Ken, is that from Aquala Industries, or another company? Also, is it specifically for the cruiser, or for Toyota trucks? Either way, it is beautifully sculpted piece of art.

Cruiser Ken

It is from Aqula. It is specifically for cruisers, pre-79. They also make them for 79 and later (truck bolt pattern). It is cool isn't it? :D

This is how it looks now, more than a year after i started the frame off, shackle reversal, homemade rear bumper, rear x member, new bushings, tie rods,... and a LOT of new sheetmetal.

Planning to do front-discs, power steering, full rollcage, custom dash,... so it won't be ready any time soon. Doesn't matter to me, caus working on Toy's is a lot of fun (sometimes :flipoff2: )

I first saw it on Jack Rice's (Medusa) write up for his SOA. They want $225 for it. Not cheap but not bad in my opinion. Easier than finding a spare arm to cut up to weld on to an existing arm and then finding someone who's welding skills you trust enough to do it. I had to wait about 6wks for it. They just made a batch of them though so they probably have them on hand now.

it's actually a 69 fj40 with a 78 top that's been cut down...that's dad's toy...there is a 45 also, but that's in my storage unit for now.

p.s. cruiser ken...thanks for the post
