I just got a new (to me) Disco. Got a great deal on it, *BUT* after driving it for a few days it decided to puke about 1/2 quart of oil on my driveway. On my way home I was getting the oil light on at idle, obviously from the leak(s).
I kinda looked for the oil leak yesterday and couldn't find any obvious location. It's got the 3.9 V8, auto (does it even have a manual option?) Any ideas? Any thing I should be looking for? Out of jeeps and into Rovers I'm in a whole new world now.

If you have a Rover thats not leaking, it's out of oil.

There were some 5-spds in 95 and 96 discos, but they are pretty rare here in the USA. Some marketting guy decided Americans can't drive manuals nor diesels
Anyway I am not sure about the 94.

You engine is a GM designed Buick small block that 'for some reason' GM sold to Rover in the late 60s.
I say for some reason because judging by many Americans perception of the Rover V-8 I would say GM made a wise choice to get rid of the block and stick with SBC ;)

What you should do is sign up at www.discoweb.org
You will find that the best source for the more generic new owner type questions.
When it comes time to four link the front come back here :D

Make sure the breather hoses are not collapsed.

94-97 you could get a manual.
