: sumo t-case
jschell 05-10-2002, 01:15 PM hase anyone tried the tranfer case from asian auto parts? just wondering if there has been anyproblems with going that low before I blow 1200 on the thing. i guess its lower than the grs 2. 180 % i guess, let me know what you think. I like it cause the high gear is 25% lower so i won't have to touch my diffs and still do the speedlimit on the highway.......
Shrock 05-10-2002, 01:21 PM Then ask something more specific
tZUKnami 05-10-2002, 02:26 PM Just in case you didn't catch that hint, there is a button that looks a lot like the one that Shrock showed you but a lot smaller. It is located in the upper-right quadrant of your screen. Touch it and unleash a world of wisdom...
Azrckcrawler 05-10-2002, 02:39 PM When your using that new found button, also use the term 6:1.

Rocky Road 05-10-2002, 04:59 PM We've had excellent reponse on the 6:1 gears so far.
The only possible downside is that a couple of the 2lo tcases have had trouble due to the torque from the 6:1 gears. The shifters can pop of out gear. Works fine with the regular shift pattern. I'd recommend against the standard 2low though until we get the reverse 'S' pattern shifter released since they don't require ball removal.
6:1's have been doing great though..... and we don't bill for them until they're ready to ship. Other 6:1's we've heard of will bill immediately upon order.
To date, I believe I've personally installed 16 sets of 6:1 gears not to mention all the others we've sold to DIYers (more than any other shop according to the manufacturer). Any questions, please feel free to ask

this is your brain on CRACK!
you don't need to take your shoes off to count to 10....I'll spell it for ya Glenn T E N......that's right..you have bought only ten 6.1 gears from Robert Storr.....".no more than TEN".....quoted by Robert
we are selling them at our cost, and as per Rob's request "deposit up front" end of quote.....
all of the 6.1 gears we have shipped out we're set up by Robert. or myself....even the ones with 2 wheel low.....and I haven't heard one guy say they didn't work......maybe you need to take better care on how to install the 2 wheel low shift patern....
tell the truth if you can

CATCLAWEZ 05-13-2002, 08:12 AM Dave Wake Up start opening your eyes a little bit and think about it, Why did we sent so many core to him  It Was fine letting you think we did alot less till you start bumping your gums Chris
Rocky Road 05-13-2002, 08:42 AM There will be no vendor war here.
I actually like Dave and don't need to get into any sort of public argument with him.
-------------------------------------------------
I must however say that Dave's business with the gear manufacturer is just that..... Dave's business.
The same..... our business with the manufacturer is our business. Not sure why Dave believes that we've only received 10 sets from the manufacturer in the time we've been doing business with them. We've received quite a good number of the 6:1 gears. The exact count I don't know, and its really no one else's business. What I do know is that I've personally installed 16 of the 6:1 gearsets for customers in rebuilt tcases, and that we are not billing the gears until they're picked up.
--------------------------------------------------
Most people with the 2-low have had no trouble, but there have been a couple that experienced the gears popping out. It doesn't matter who does the installation as all the vendors use the same machining and ball removal method.
As a precaution and service to our customers, we're letting them know of this potential situation and are switching the 2 low design to a more 'locked up ' design..... ie, the Reverse 'S' shifter forks and pattern.
--------------------------------------------------
I would encourage anyone who has questions on this to feel free to contact us. I don't want to see a bunch of childish mudslinging or making of ignorant accustations. Hopefully the 'collective' can refrain from this.
We're simply letting folks know we've installed and sold quite a few of the 6:1 gears and have some good experience with them as a result.
