I'm usually not the type to post stuff but here's a picture of my project.

Defender110
Shorted the back end several inches
Dynatrac prorock 60's(currently sitting in my garage)
Coilovers, two winches, link suspension(in the garage)
Custom roll cage(1.75 .120 DOM)(the one in the picture is just for mock-up/design)
LS1, 700r4, atlas(saving my money for this)
and obviously a paint job.

I do still have a bit of trimming and body work to do.

The frame is a stock defender 110 frame. Once I get the welding done on the back end I'll post a picture.

Thanks for the compliments.

One question regarding the ass end. Are you keeping the seem that is shown in the photo?

You know that you can remove the rivets from the rear capping, drill some spot welds and then remove the entire rear face. Cut the sides, drill some holes and rerivet the entire thing together.

fucking A that looks good already. Very different.

I started to drill out the rivets on the back corners but after thinking it over for a few weeks....(I even thought that I would go without a tailgate or rear door for a while---that would have been the easiest---and just put a sheet of aluminum there) I changed my mind because of all the hinges, copings, and everthing else that's back there. Cutting the back end about four inches from the back has been easy. The seam will not be visible after a little body work. I'm actually using a metal adhesive call Fusor to bond the panels back together(there is backing plate behind all the seems and some rivets). I'm going to put some steel plate on the corners for protection as well that will cover most of it up anyways---my wife has already been nagging at me not to ding this vehicle up(yah right). I have a hard top that's going back on it that's going to be shortened/chopped as well.

Daaaaang... and I thought my signed Grace Jones album was cool.:flipoff2:

Hooray for your choice on the LT1/700r4, but I am kinda sad to not see an LT go in, as it is a decent box. What plans for the rest of the driveline?

be carefull where you put steel and alloy together. electrolisis sucks. thats why the old landy's are better, as the steel parts that met alloy were well gal'd but now they are shit

Wait ... I read that as LS1 in the beginning. That's a significant difference!

duh--I totally missed the 60's line. Funny how Scotch can do that to a guy.

Looks like a fun project. When you get it up and going, do you have any plans to make it out to Colorado???

I grew up near Durango(in Farmington, NM). Once this project is complete I plan on making the Silverton to Telluride drive(I forget the official name). It was featured recently in 4wheel drive magazine.

Black Bear Pass down into Telluride and then Imogene back out.
Sooooo, have the truck done by August and come out to Montrose for the rally. We will be running those trails.

I went to college in Durango and am pretty familiar with all of the Farmington and Durango trails. Throw me an email and we can plan a trip. If you are down for extreme trails, there are a lot of good ones out there. Keep me in mind when your project is completed.
