are FORD and CHEVY 8 lug patterns the same? how about from 3/4-1 ton FORD to CHEVY; CHEVY to CHEVY; FORD to FORD.
do they change and where. i tried to figure it out at the junkyard, but could only find one 8 lug rim w/ a big'ol tire on it. the studs did appear to be different sizes though.
thanks- russel

The Big Three are the same 8 on 6.5 untill the new Ford super duties. The all used diffrent size studs depending on year and application, 1/2, 9/16, 5/8.

they have different size holes in the middle of the rim, after market are bigger. if i remember right dodge will fit ford and chevy. ford will fit chevy but not dodge, and chevy fits just chevy. this is only on oem rims, but you can cut the center hole bigger and swap them where ever you want.

I'm resonably sure the chev and ford rims interchange, they did on my dually. the dodge rims definitly have a larger center hole and therefore fit anything but only allow dodge rims on a dodge

1999-newer Ford Super Duties are 8x170mm hole spacing with 14x2 metric lug bolts/nuts. Just put one on my jeep but there's plenty of hub beef to redrill 8x6.5 between the metric holes.

on mid 80's thru mid 90's, a chevy wheel has a smaller center-
hole in the rim. so, the chevy rim will interchange between
dodge and chevy. a ford has a slightly larger center-hole, so
a ford rim will fit everything, but the chevy rim will NOT fit on
a ford axle. I think dodge is the same as chevy.
and like earlier stated, 99' later fords are metric pattern

Dodge and Ford have the bigger holes to fit over the rear Dana axles, where the Chevy rim hole is smaller since the 14B hub is smaller in dia.
