I have access to a 1995 S10 TBI 4.3 and will be using a SM465 transmission, so my question is, will the ECM from this truck work with the manual transmission since the S10 had the 4L60E? My other option is going with an older TBI 4.3, but would like to use the '95 motor since it has the 2wd pan and no A/C.
Any input on this ECM would be great, thanks.

I did the same swap and ran a vehicle speed sensor from Speed Scene Wiring from my dana 20 back to the ECM.

I think sometime around '95 or so they switched from an ecm to a pcm (powertrain control module), if that's the case you may have a problem, since I think that the pcms do not have replaceable prom chips. The tbi 350 I'm getting ready swap in is from a '95, I didn't get the computer with it, but just to avoid any problems I'm setting it up like a '92 motor (harness and ECM wise)
It may be that I'm wrong and it was really '96 or so when they switched in which case you will be fine. Just make sure that you get a chip burnt to run a manual tranny.
I wish one of these tbi gurus would chime in here, i'm kinda curious about this to.

This one has the ECM (inside the cab). I've done this swap about a half dozen times with the older tbi setup ('7747 ECM), I'm mainly just wondering if it's doable without throwing a lot of money at it or if I should look for an older TBI motor. Thanks for any and all input!
