Ok, I have 2 8.75" rears that I want to give to my buddy for his YJ.. now, are these ok in there.. the free aspect is there, but is it worth it, or should I just sell it to some chrysler buff? thanks
Garrett

I wouldn;t waste any of my energy putting them in...for as cheap as you can get rears I would not do it...JMHO:D:D

They aren't a very good axle maybe:D:D:D

Free is good but free isn;t going to get you off the trail...spend a few extra bucks and get a decent axle and then swap it out...like I said JMHO:D:D:D

The only thing wrong with the 8.75 is there is no air locker for it.. to get stronger you would have to with a D60 like Mopar did behind the Hemi..

so basically it would be better to find a 9" out of an old lincoln... but yeah, if you want em alex, they are yours, otherwise, i am just gonna sell em.

Mkay...

First off isn't it an 8.25? ...They are weak, and the worst reason to swap ne in a YJ is that it shortens the rear driveshaft even more than usual.

no, these are the 8.75", not the 8.25". They stopped using them in 1974 when they replaced it with the 9.25". They are more like the ford 9", with the drop out center section.

Hey garret I am interested in them. What all do thay have? And do you only have the rear? A front would be a passenger side drop right?

they never made a 8.75 front. rears only with a 44 front. the 8.75 is alot stronger than a 9". the 9 has the problem of the pinion support bearings being to close together. the 8.75 does not have this problem. they are stong enough to hold up to 600hp in stock 30 spline form in cars, so it should have no problems in a wrangler. it has the same aftermarket as the 9 with spools and lockers available as well as a good selection of gears. with the 5-4.5" bolt pattern his current wheels will bolt right on.;)

and moser makes 35 spline spools and axles for this rear.:D
