: Powerhouse Trail (CO/NM)
The Powerhouse trail is a new trail. It is pure rock. Unlike New Mexico, the rocks are giant boulders that stretch for miles. It is located southeast of Antonito, Antonito is in the south central part of Colorado. When on the trail is crosses over New Mexico. The trail is 1/2 mile long. If started at 6 a.m. It is possible to finish by dark if the vehicles are well set-up.
Any of the Land Rover guys run this trail yet? From the pictures it looks very fun. The trail is one were you complete it and then back track to get out. It sounds if it takes too long going up that there is a escape route at the top to head back to a main road. So far I have only seen people with 40" tires + do this, so I am curious before I make the drive if it is possible.

RockRover 05-11-2002, 09:04 PM Sounds killer, and like it could be a great *finisher* to Blanka...Do Blanka first, breath the freash air, then get down and nasty!
Post the pic! Where did you hear about it?

tbmcneill 05-12-2002, 01:44 PM There's a good write-up in the May issue of 4WD & Sport Utility. Definately sounds intense. As far as tire size goes, the yellow scrambler (w/ the MTRs) on the cover of that issue ran Patzcauro's the same day we did at CC & I think he was running 35s ... I think...
So, when are we going? :D

tbmcneill 05-12-2002, 07:41 PM Way,
There's an outside chance that I'm heading to NC that weekend now ... but like I said: "outside chance". I'll know by the end of the week. Assuming I don't go east let's run it-

Edit: any others???
redrangie 05-13-2002, 09:15 PM Way,
We should be in the neighborhood that week, but I don't think my puny 32's will make it. It's a long way back to Denver with a broke truck!
jk
I imagine that we can stack rocks. I am not too far off with 33" tires. So do you have a winch? No shame in using that. If it gets too bad, you can sit in the back seat of mine. It is no stranger to rock damage. My girlfriend will be siiting shotgun.
Or even better yet, I know of some sweet trails in the Farmington, New Mexico (maybe ieven the rockgarden in aztec) area that I know your vehicle could do. I know what the trails are and what to expect. I can even supply some pictures here and there before you commit. It would be challenging and the 32" tires will be just fine as the terrain is similar to Moab. I have been dying to get some of the rover guys in my backyard!!!!!! Many of these trails I did with a 2" lift, 245/75s (30.5ish) and some good spotting.

The time is near my friend...The time is near.
Rover Addiction 05-14-2002, 09:44 AM exactly HOW near, Doug???
I know you've been getting some more done on that rig of yours!!
Where are you now?
And Way, I may be able to stop for an afternoon or a day on my way through to get to San Antonio in July..
Maybe we can all get together and do some playing on these trails you're talking about there!

redrangie 05-14-2002, 02:04 PM Hey now, my wench never leaves the front seat! Oh I'm sorry, you said winch. Anyway, we are looking to take off the week after Memorial Day, and were going to head SW from Denver, and see how far we can get. We always go with my son and usually the dogs, so the initial 5 hour drive is the hassle.
As for the winch, (no flames please) it is the only accessory we don't have. I think wheeling with children from a safety standpoint is better when you don't put yourself in those positions in the first place. Since we usually camp on the trail, if he gets hurt, it means that we have to do a recovery to get out, which could be too much time.
I can do Spring Creek without damage, so I imagine that this would not be too bad. I just went to the 9014's with super soft bushings up front, so I have around 10" there, with over that in the rear. Send some pic's to my email, and let's see what happens...
I will post some poser pics of the new setup as soon as I can get on a ramp or a rock.....

Hmm.. I hit a nerve, huh?
So.. lemme guess, you're stuck at work lookin at POR instead of out workin on your rig like you'd rather be doing? :(
Or maybe you've been doin a whole lot of workin on the house and none on the rig recently. :(
Either way, I feel your pain.. My D90 is still suffering from the blown seals and broken seatbelt from the CC. The 110 is almost on the road again though! :D :D :D
Can't wait to see your rig back on the trails! Keep at it!
