: Dual exhaust?
Bass Man 12-26-2006, 07:34 PM I want to by a Flowmaster 40 that has the 3" inlet and dual 2.5" out... I have the technology and fab skills to make it work, but the lack of interest has spooked me from the idea a little bit... why hasn't anyone ran it before?
I will run single 2.25" pipe from the exhaust manifold to right beside the gas tank (flat to the bottom of the floor) and run my 2 pipes out from there to each side of the car (GOOD idea in the rocks/ruts of mud, ect. because if you smash one side in, the air goes to the other side.)
Nor Cal Wheelin 12-26-2006, 09:24 PM my 0.02.... just keep that cherry bomb that you have... They dont take up a lot of room and sammy's sound silly with flow masters.... I think it would be a waiste of money and take up a lot of room. That is just my own opinion.:D
Bass Man 12-26-2006, 09:29 PM I like the sound of flowmasters though. And having dual exhaust out of it would be unique and worth while...
Crab Bait 12-26-2006, 09:41 PM What ever floats your boat. I personally like a bit more quite muffler so that I can hear what's going on under my rig. :grinpimp: BTW, the 2-1/2" pipe from the Doug Thorley headers help the mid/high torque range which I run in.
Bass Man 12-26-2006, 10:13 PM Hmm... I do have a $325 paycheck coming this thursday, I might need an ol' thorley! damn insurance takes $100 though...
zuku26 12-29-2006, 07:16 AM I agree keep the cherry bomb. I ran a dual cherry bomb mufflers on my old rig, with side exit exhaust under each door. OH I also had the thorley. Had a great sound that I loved.

it's your money, do with it as you please, but if it were me, i would save my money and spend it on something that would actually make a difference.
Bass Man 12-29-2006, 09:44 PM Well, on ebay, the dual output is as cheap as the single output... At the muffler shop, it was $15 more...
But I bought a single out flowmaster 40 and tried to make duals, but the sound wasn't -- right. So I made it a single pipe and it sounded more like I was looking for, but I still need a header.
I'm gonna build my dads to dual cherry bomb's.
purevil71 12-30-2006, 08:31 AM Mine had a Flowmaster on it when I bought it, and I really like it. But it's just a single outlet. It seems to hold up really well too. It has more than a few rock marks on it and so far, so good!
Bass Man 12-30-2006, 11:06 PM Yea, I need to redo some stuff for it... the 2" Pipe output doesn't seem, or look, big enough.
Hvy_Chevy 12-31-2006, 06:44 AM it's only a 1.3!!!
offroad ricer 12-31-2006, 07:51 AM The 1.3 doesn't need any bigger than a 21\4 exhaust. You still need some back pressure. The glass packs make too much noise. I ran duals split behind the muffler several years ago. I had a lot of problems with them rattling on the gas tank or the shock on the pass. side. The 1.3 just moves around too much.

X2, Too much exhaust will actually hurt your performance.

With a name like yours we'd expect you to run dual exhaust. I bet they had huge exhaust tips too. :D
But this guy isn't supposed to be a ricer. His name shows he likes fishing bass. :flipoff2:
Forget about spending money on your stereo and other ricer mods. Get a winch and lock the front diff. You'd have a lot more fun.:D
Bass Man 12-31-2006, 07:03 PM Lol!!!!! FISHING!!! hahaha... 146db at 40hz explains my name.
The TAIL pipe doesn't look big enough...
Everything needed to make the trail easier is already obtained... I just don't have the time, or DD for those mods.

Hvy_Chevy 01-01-2007, 05:07 AM still fucking funny.
go buy a soda and stare at the bottle for a bit. That's 1 liter and the Zuke uses 1.3 of them.
Bass Man 01-02-2007, 12:20 PM Thinking of the long run when I bore a 1600 .040 over. That's when I have money to experiment though.
Std Compression 1600 in std., .020,
