: LC Engineering 3rz Oil Pan
OliveToy 12-27-2006, 08:35 AM Is anyone running this pan or even had a look? It's really expensive but I think it would help the oil starvation problems when the truck is at angles.

Oil Pan - 2RZ/3RZ Solid Axle Swap Oil Pan
This is the oil pan you must have if you are putting that solid front axle in your Tacoma or early model Toyota truck. The pan features anti rust coating, custom pickup tube, windage tray and trap doors to keep the oil by the pick up. This pan even comes with the drain plug and washer. For all 3RZ motors.
$350.00
OliveToy 12-27-2006, 09:24 AM The stock oil pans are single wall right?
Chass 12-27-2006, 09:44 AM Considering you can get the stock pan, pickup and dipstick for under $150, that pan had better offer some huge advantages over stock for that price!

Thats why I was hoping someone had one, they might not show a profile view because it is a modified stock pan. Does that pickup look similar to the T100 2wd pickup? or is it a custom piece.
JeepRecoveryTeam 12-27-2006, 02:45 PM Funny you should bring this up. I just bought a custom version of that pan for the buggy. Thing holds 7 quarts
Mine has 4 trap doors and 4 baffles as well as a full length windage tray.
It came with a custom pickup.
I'll post pics later. Unfortuantely I wasn't specific enough with the measurements and it was interefering with the drivelines at full stuff (it's low profile with wings off of both sides) I had Dan Bell fix it up and it's ready to install.
For me it was WELL worth the 350 I paid. Excellent workmanship.
Hopefully I won't be going through motors again this season.

So yours was built by LCE? I just got off the phone with them, they are looking around for more pics, if they find them I will post them up.
JeepRecoveryTeam 12-27-2006, 03:26 PM So yours was built by LCE?
Yep, just got delivery on Friday.
Completley custom but they kept all the designs, so it's repeatable.
The trap doors are :smokin:
OliveToy 12-27-2006, 03:29 PM I want one now! What is your setup? Why was it so close to your d-shaft.
JeepRecoveryTeam 12-27-2006, 03:35 PM I want one now! What is your setup? Why was it so close to your d-shaft.
It was only close to my driveshaft because at full compression, the pinion flange is above the pan ;)
The pan is only ~4" deep, but it has wings that stick out on both sides ~3". The pan is with the buggy over at a buddies shop, when I get a chance I'll post pics.
OliveToy 12-27-2006, 03:51 PM What dipstick did you use and is it accurate?

I'm switching to the T100 application this week. Still haven't put fluids in. I'll let you know.
OliveToy 12-27-2006, 04:20 PM Thanks for all your help guys, I think I will probably order one this week.
OliveToy 12-28-2006, 03:19 PM Some pics I just received from LCE.
krickett 02-28-2007, 10:17 AM So does that one hold 7 quarts?
alienjeep 03-09-2007, 11:01 PM i've driven my taco sideways and i haven't had any problems with oil! the t100 does just fine. IMO.
blacksheep312 03-10-2007, 09:55 AM my t-100 oild oan works like a charm and holds more oil :)
OliveToy 03-12-2007, 11:38 AM I didn't like how LC's looked, little hack if you ask me so I also just put the T-100 pan on. Did any of you plug the original dipstick hole on the front for the tacoma pan.
banthis 04-04-2007, 01:21 PM I just left the stock dipstick in it and don't worry about it. I got a 3rz so I didn't have to worry about shit like it running through 5.7qts (T-100 capacity) between oil changes. When its full it reads around a 1/4" above the low level on the stock dipstick.
Needs to be checked after its been sitting for a while though since it slides down the side of the pan a little and would pick up enough oil to look 1/2 qt low just off the sides of the pan if it had been sloshing around.
OliveToy 04-04-2007, 03:22 PM I am going to plug the tacoma dipstick hole and run the T100 dipstick only.
wngrog 04-04-2007, 06:37 PM IU have a 3RZ in my rock buggy and I la yit over often, drive it around on its side, have flopped in quite a few times and I have never had the motor starve for oil.
I did drop off a big ass ledge on Britney Spears in Moab and bashed it up into the pickup that in-turn pushed up into the engine.
I pulled it off and hammered it back and it is good to go.
Can't see the starvation thing being an issue.
OliveToy 04-05-2007, 06:56 AM Nice! Sounds like smooth sailing
