I have a 2000 GMC 2500 crew cab with 454 and 14bolt with 4.10 gears and limited slip. I tow a CJ with fullsize and full width axels on a 14' car hauler that was custom made with drive over fenders and open center. Also it was widend to about 100" I think. I'm looking to upgrade trailers so I can tow my buddies rig too, a lifted TJ. any ideas on weather I should go with a gooseneck or just get a longer bummper mount trailer? When towing my rig I don't use a weight dis hitch but muy truck is set up for it. Should I? also my truck is a short bed will a gooseneck fit? My rig I est. is about 5k buddys is 4500est. Any help here would be great, thanks guys. Also do you guys think my truck will pull this load I est about 14k with rigs and trailer?

With a bumper pull for 2 rigs, you'll probably be over your weight rating for the 2500. I had a 97, 3500, dually, that was only rated to 10K with a bumper pull. I'd go goose if I were you, should be within your rating at that point.
gooseneck also, much better pul:(

I had a 2500 shortbox Dodge and now I have a GMC longbed dually. You will be over max on the tong weight. The drawback to short box will be tight turns you need watch the trailer close. I busted out my back window on the dodge with my 5th wheel. 5th wheel or gooseneck your towing capacity is around 12K depending on motor.
Go Gooseneck

keep what you have now and make your buddy get a tow rig and trailer
and get a gooseneck
Now that it's been almost 2.5 years since he started the thread, I hope he has made up his mind long before now!!
