I'm going to look at this truck today anything I should look for or any defects know to this truck.

The motor rocks (4.9L 300, a Ford workhorse for many, many years)

TTB D44 front, 8.8 rear.

Transmission is a big question mark: most came with the T5, I thought the 4 speeds were phased out in the mid to late 80's :confused: If it's a 435, keep it, they're tough as hell. I'd upgrade to a ZF5 if I could (they came in the F250, it will net you a much better tranny, and a respectable 1st gear)

Transfer case is ok.

All in all, they're pretty darn decent little trucks. Look for rust in body seams, and the condition of the framerails.

yeah its a 5 speed...truck turned out to be a rust bucket.

Five speed would be the M5OD-R2, but some late 80s 300s did get the ZF5 S5-42 in the F-150.

The T-18/19 four speed did make it through '93 in the half tons with the 300 and 302.
