Well ive got an 85 k10 with a 350/700r4/208, and on my way home to spend christmas with my family, the 700r4 decided to puke out.
Found in a local paper, 85 3/4ton 4x4 with a 180* rollover has a 6.2 diesel and automatic overdrive tranny(assuming 700r4??). Said trans was rebuilt as well as the t case. :D
So, question is, if the trans in the wrecked truck is a 700r4 will the 6.2 have the same bellhousing pattern as the 350?
Thanks

YEs the bell housing's are the same bolt pattern but the internal shift points - rpm are lower in the diesel tranny from a factory set up due to the lower rpms that a diesel runs at
hope it helps and good luck ( in my experience you will need it ) witha any 7oor4
If i were you i would look for a 400- 208 as its pertty much a direct plug and play ( drive shafts stay the same length ) and a much more reliable tranny

You can get that same tranny, put it in your truck, remove the governor and Torque convertor from your truck and put them in the new tranny.
Everything else is the same.

Need the overdrive, it gets driven on the highway alot. If i had it my way and more money and time i would get an NV4500:D
Thanks for the replys

Depending on how the other trans puked, I would be careful as to swap the convertors---you don't want to contaminate the working trans.

well the other trans basically started slipping really bad. My boss and some other people are pointing me in the direction that one of the forward clutch packs disentigrated or came apart or something along those lines.
