Ok, I need some inspiration. I am thinking about turning my old shorty '78 ford into a snow ( deep white stuff ) only truck. Something like 49" IROKS with only about 4" of suspension. Has anyone seen this done while keeping it looking like a truck? The lower the better.

Bring on the snow truck pictures!!

Thats a great start, 49s don't look too far off.

you could probably get away with 4" and 49"s

GO cheap with lift blocks, body lift, spacers. :-p and big ass bump stops.

Front body mounts are the issue, if you have any suspension left. On a stock truck with 37" Swampers, they'll eat the center of the tread under compression turning. There's NO way to get another 6" of clearance there without axle relocation, moving the body mount, or suspension lift. Body lift won't help...

I was thinking about redoing the mount and pushing the axle forward a few inches. I want to keep the grill complete though.....

3-4 inches and 38's..... sorry no 49's.

tags the cab mount and sometimes the inner sheetmetal for the cab and clip under super stuff and turning.

yea definately.. but i bet it can go through mud in a straight line pretty good. i talked to the guy that owns it and he bought it that way for 1,000 with almost new 44"s on it though. (which he used on another truck i think
