Hello and first an introduction to my girl:
I got Low and Slow from my father in early Aug of 06. Your basic 1979 351M, D44 HP, Lowboy. I promptly replace the dry rotted road tires with some 265/75-16 Timberline M/T's and changed all of the filters / plugs / fluids / etc.

I removed the running boards, and went to my first mud run in Late August 06. I was able to make it through a lot of stuff, but was dragging the diffs on some of the trails. I was also getting bitten by the bug.

I sold off all of my other hobbies (RC helicopter was the big one) and proceeded to rebuild the transfer case (leaked like mother after the run), the front axle, and the rear axle. New bearings, seals, 4.56 gears, Detroit out back, Powerlocker up front, Ujoints, CV's, balljoints, brake pads, etc. etc. I added a rough country 4" lift, with a sky flip in the rear. I used a superlift drop drag as the steering arm was fused to the drivers side knuckle. I also added 6"+ stanless soft lines for the brakes.

Well The end of September 06 rolled around, and it was the Friday before the last two big runs of the season. some frantic cutting and bolting, and tweaking was going on. I mounted up my new 315/75-16 Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ's (sold the Timberlines to a friend in need) Saturday morning, and ran at two different events that weekend. Pulled 5 other guys out, and Ole Low and Slow did everything I asked of her.

I put her "away" for the season with the occasional trip to Lowes, and some goofing around on my back lot the only action she saw. Some Beer, and friends mixed one night, and we got her stuck in a hole that I had no business being in. Broke the front axle Ujoints, and saddles. Decided I needed to fix her up a little for next summer.

Hope you enjoyed the story and the pics.

I'm going to start a second post with a question on where to go next. Thanks for looking.
