I have a very noticeable shudder in the front end of my 89 YJ when I hit a good set of bumps, big or small. I have checked every bolt and bushing, and cannot track the thing down. The shudder can be felt mostly in the area in and around the brake/gas pedal, right on the floor. I am at my end here. I have some slight up and down movemenmt on both sides of the Jeep in the ball joint area. When I say slight, I mean very very little. Would bad ball joints translate into a shudder that far from the axle? I have gone through all of the linkages, tranny/motor mounts and anything else I can reach with a wrench. All U-joints are new. All shocks are new, and tight.
I thought maybe the 35s were causing some problems, but I put my wifes 31s on today for a short run around the block, and it did it just the same. It was fun though having the 350 with 4.10 gears and 31s. :)
Anyway, I am out of ideas here.
