FYI, I just went thru 6 of 7 courses at Cal Rocs this weekend without breaking my rear steer (Dana 44) CTM U-jonts or Mosser shafts. So Jack at CTM is "the man" So if there was any ? about the strength. I ran them on all (4) corners completely bound up w/ 38.5 Swampers(3lbs) and Detroits. And if your wondering what happened on #7, well the 22R took a"shit". "Run Dog";) :usa:

just curious what wheels you run for weight issues? Also do you think CTM's would have survied using a v8 motor or even a 6 banger?:skull:

I 'm sure they would still hold up to a v6 or v8. Those swampers are on steel rims w/ Trail Ready Beadlocks. The wheels are heavy. Also, I ran my Spare on the rear for weight and my crawl ratio is 248:1.; That will put a all kinds of torque on the joints. I climbed verticle with the rear steer bent. If they were going to break, that would have did it. So I say go buy them and save yourself the $ on a Dana 60 and still keep your clearance.

I'm not sure what joints this guy was runnig. He may argue about the 60 though.

What happened there? Looks like a Tera 60 lost a knuckle during a roll? Whose rig is that?

That is Neil Lillard's Campbell buggy. He broke a rear steer Spicer (Dana 60) ujoint, and kept driving on it. It blew the knuckle off.

Thats what you get when you run a balljoint style knuckle...

balljoint 60's are gay and i can't imagine running one in a rear steer application
