what will happen if i run a 360 flexpate on a 401? i know they are balanced a little different but will anything major happen?

Only if you consider shortening the life of your engine's internals major. What flexplate do you need for a 401? I've found them easy to find for either the Turbo 400 or TF727. My tranny shop was able to get either for around $35-40.
